Roundtable “The Latin American Community and the Judicial Diversity”

On May 15th we had an important meeting with the Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, MP Arif Virani. It took us five years, two Ministers of Justice, and many letters to finally have this conversation.
But here we are, having the aimed to talk about how the Hispanic / Latin American community can have better access to the judicial system in Canada, and even how we can be represented in it.
About 30 Hispanic / Latin American lawyers, advocates, academics, businesspeople, and community leaders attended the event at our offices at the Centre for Social Innovation. The members of the Canadian Hispanic Bar Association played a key role in the conversation.
We want to thank Minister Virani for his open-mindedness and willingness to open the door of the Ministry of Justice of Canada and talk to us. We are sure this conversation is going to continue.
